New Design! Intellium PDI
Our new Point Diffraction Interferometer, Intellium PDI, is a state-of-the-art point diffraction interferometer that generates its own reference spherical wavefront using a pinhole in a waveplate. This opens up a wide range of applications such as wavefront and collimation testing of telescopes/periscopes, alignment/collimation of optic systems. The Intellium PDI can be mated with our HyperPhase module for vibration insensitive and real-time measurements.

How to choose between a Small Beam Shearing Interferometer (S), Point Diffraction Interferometer (P), and Wavefront Sensor (H) for wavefront metrology?
ESDI provides three types of instruments for your laser metrology needs.
While they all perform wavefront measurements and a have small footprint - there are significant differences among them:

  S: Slope Fringes, P: Surface Fringes, H: Slope Wavefront
- Analysis Type
  S: Visual, P: IntelliWave Software
- Acquisition Speed
  S: 30 frames/sec, P: 30 frames/sec, H: 5 to 850Hz
- Input Beam Diameter
  S: 1 to 8mm, P: 3 to 25 mm, H: 5 to 15 mm
- Beam wavelength
  S: 180 to 1700 nm, P: 480-1800 nm, H: 193 to 1100 nm
- Collimation
  S: 50-350 micro radians, P: lambda/150, H: lambda/100
- Other Features
  All types offer vibration insensitive measurement
